A McNairy Central Lady Bobcats upset bid fell short in a defensive struggle with the Dyersburg Lady Trojans on Friday.

The Lady Bobcats, who fell 50-29 to Dyersburg in their season opener, played the Lady Trojans to a 36-32 finish. 

Maddie Kirk scored four of the McNairy Central’s 10 points in the opening quarter. The Lady Trojans took a 12-10 lead into the second quarter. 

The Lady Bobcats outscored Dyersbug 7-6 in the second period to trim the Lady Trojans lead to 18-17 at halftime. 

Dyersburg took a 28-24 lead after the third. 

Kirk led McNairy Central with 10 points. Duey Pierce scored seven. 

Jasmine Jordan led the Lady Trojans with 12 points on the night. 

 

Bolivar 52, McNairy Central 47

The McNairy Central Lady Bobcats led early but dropped a 52-47 decision to the Bolivar Central Lady Tigers on Dec. 1.

The Lady Bobcats led 11-10 after the first period. Maddie Kirk scored four for McNairy Central in the frame.

Duey Pierce scored four of the Lady Bobcats seven points in the second and McNairy Central trailed 20-18 at the half. 

The Lady Tigers took a 35-30 lead after the third period, outscoring McNairy Central 15-10 in the frame. Carley Daniel led Bolivar Central with 10 points in the frame. 

Jilli Johnson scored five of the Lady Bobcats 17 points in the fourth. She led McNairy Central with 14. Willow Merry finished with eight. 

Daniel led Bolivar Central with 21. Brionna Brooks scored 15 for the Lady Tigers. 

The Lady Bobcats host Scotts Hill in their first home district contest on Friday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
