United Way of West TN Invests over $76,000
MCNAIRY COUNTY – The McNairy County Advisory Board and United Way of West Tennessee Board are proud to announce the Community Impact Funding for 2011 - 2012. Over the next year $76,030 will be invested into 27 local programs, run by 18 partner agencies serving our friends and neighbors here in the West Tennessee Community. The United Way of West Tennessee (UWWT) has volunteers organized into 8 region committees representing its 14 counties. These volunteers review applications sent in by agencies that have applied for funding, and decide which programs can best positively affect our communities. UWWT focuses on funding programs that advance the Common Good and work to create opportunities for a better life for all in three areas; Education, Income and Health.“This investment is made possible by thousands of donors and hundreds of volunteers and we want to thank each and every one of them. Without the generous support of their time and donations the programs supported by this investment would not be able to strengthen our community and support those in need”, stated David Hayes, President of Security Bank and UWWT Chair of the Board. This year’s Vice Chair of Community Impact, Steve Grubbs, CEO of Regional Hospital, wanted to especially thank the volunteers across West Tennessee who made the investment decisions. “We have 8 groups of regional volunteers who take this responsibility very seriously knowing they are responsible for wisely investing the money donated by thousands of hard working people in West Tennessee. They review applications, audits and 990’s on each agency and program applying for funding.
