Looking to avenge their first District 15-A loss of the season, the Adamsville Cardinals thumped the Scotts Hill Lions at home last Wednesday.

On the strength of three deep balls from the Cardinal sluggers, Adamsville had no trouble taking care of the Lions.
Cardinal head coach Steven Lambert credited his players' improved approaches at the plate for the team's success.
“Big first inning got us going,” he said. “And three big blasts helped our cause tremendously.”
A few pitches after a Jacob Wallis RBI-double in the first inning, John Reed Odom drilled a ball to deep left field with the bases loaded for his second grand slam in six days, giving AHS an early 5-0 lead.
Not to be outdone by his fellow junior, Josh Chappell rocketed a pitch to deep right field in the fourth, driving in two runs with the home run to give Adamsville a 8-0 lead.
Wanting to get in on the action, Jalen Kendall sent a shot out of the ballpark in the bottom of the sixth to put the Cardinals in the win column.
Overshadowed by the offensive clinic the bats were putting on, Kasey Hurley had a great start for the Cardinals on the mound, giving up just three hits over six innings while his team improved to 7-1 in the district.
“Kasey had another great outing on the hill for us, and we were finally able to back him up offensively,” Lambert said. “His record does not indicate how good he has been for us on the mound. The boys really worked hard the last two days...and it really paid off. Good district win that we needed big time.”
