Teacher airlifted after wreck

Adamsville Elementary School teacher Jamie Stutts, 40-year-old resident of Hardin County, and her 12-year-old daughter Laurie were involved in a single vehicle accident while heading north on Caney Branch Road around 7:30 a.m., according to Trooper Charles Stewart of the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Emergency Medical Services took Stutts’ daughter, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, according to Stewart, to Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tenn. where she was later released with minor injuries.

Stutts was airlifted to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where she is currently in stable condition and is alert and attentive while recovering from injuries to her back, shoulder, and head.

Stewart said the two were heading north when Stutts ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected, and lost control of her vehicle.

Stutts then ran off the left side of the road and collided head-on with a tree, continued spinning, and hit another tree with the rear end of her vehicle before coming to a rest in the middle of Caney Branch Road.
