MCHS Golf season kicks off

MCHS tees off golf season July 25 McNairy Central began their golf season at the Selmer Country Club. The Bobcats tied for third place with Tullahoma out of 10 teams with a score of 311.

Dakota Roden was awarded medalist with a score of 69. Jason Kirk shot a 74, Matt Chandler an 82, and Stuart Littlejohn shot an 86.

Hardin County placed first with 298. Lawrence County trailed by one point with 299 and placed second.

 

TGA Junior Tour results

This summer, locals competed in the Tennessee Golf Association Junior Tour. 

In the Boys 16-18 Masters, Jason Kirk ranked 31st out of 173 with an average score of 72.55. In 93rd and 94th position locals Dakota Roden and Matt Chandler scored 78.36 and 78.65.

Connor Froning of Knoxville won with a 68.18 average. Logan Matthew of Franklin took second and Garrett Metz of Knoxville placed third.

The top five finishers were awarded the Toyota TGA Junior Tour Player of the Year.

 

Adamsville fall sports sign-ups

Adamsville Jr. Pro Football sign-ups begin Monday and will run through Aug. 16 for age groups 7 - 9 and 10 – 12.

Tryouts and weigh-ins are scheduled for Aug. 16 at 6 p.m. at the Adamsville City Park.

Adamsville Jr. Pro Cheerleading will begin sign-ups on Monday and will run through Aug. 19.

Adamsville Parks and Recreation soccer sign-ups will begin Monday and run through Aug. 20.

Tryouts will be on Aug. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Adamsville soccer field behind the elementary school.

Jr. Pro Football and Cheerleading meeting

The Adamsville Jr. Pro Football and Cheerleading meeting will be held Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Adamsville Community Center.

Selmer fall sports sign-ups

The Selmer Parks and Recreation Department is currently taking sign-up for softball, soccer, and basketball.

Soccer and softball will begin in September and the deadline to sign-up is Aug. 29. The deadline for basketball sign-ups is Oct. 31.

Register during regular business hours, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Selmer Community Center.

 

PeeWee football signups

McNairy County PeeWee Football League will kick off their 36th season with a signup day Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.  The signup location will be at Selmer City Park. Eligible players must be at least 8 years old on July 31st, 2011 and no older than 11 on July 31st, 2011.  Please bring a copy of birth certificate for confirmation. The league furnishes all equipment and uniforms other than shoes and practice jerseys.  There are no cost or registration fees for playing. For additional information, please call (731)-645-0786.
