Blue Mountain Basketball Camp

Blue Mountain College is hosting basketball camp from Monday, June 20, through Thursday, June 23 for boys entering 1st through 9th grades.

For 1st – 4th grade boys the cost is $50 and camp will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Tyler Gymnasium. For 5th – 9th grade boys the cost is $70 and camp will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the Tyler Gymnasium.

Former Bobcats, Christopher Whitten and Jermeal Binghan will be assisting.

Mail Registration by June 15 to: J.D. Parker – Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Blue Mountain College, PO Box 160, Blue Mountain, MS 38610.

Late registration will require a $10 fee. All campers will receive a Toppers Basketball t-shirt. A concession stand will be open during all breaks, and students are encouraged to bring their own water bottle each day.

McNairy Central volleyball tryouts 

On Wednesday, May 18, McNairy Central High School volleyball tryouts will be held for seniors, juniors and sophomores at 3:45 p.m. and for in-coming freshmen at 4:30 p.m. at Bethel Springs Elementary School (enter through the main gym doors).

Junior Bobcat camp dates changed

Junior Bobcat Basketball Camp will be held Monday, June 20, through Wednesday, June 22.

All boys who will be in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade will come from 9-11 a.m. each day. All boys who will be in the 6th, 7th or 8th grades will come in the afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m.

Please use next year’s grade for your time. We will strictly be working on fundamentals of the game.

There will be no prizes or t-shirts given. You may sign up by getting a form at your school office or come 30 minutes early on the first day. Cost of the camp is $10.

Hoops for Hunter

A basketball tournament is being held to help raise money and awareness for Hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.

Hunter Wilson has severe hemophilia A. 

Hoops for Hunter will be held on Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. till noon at the Selmer Community Center.

 

Correction

In McNairy Central’s last regular season matchup against the Bolivar Lady Tigers, Courtney Robinson hit a double and had one run. Robin Matlock was 3 for 4, with two doubles and a home run. Matlock finished with two runs out of the 10 against Bolivar.
