Despite some bad weather, initial celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Battle seem to have gone well.
Nita Rutledge, Hardin County Public Relations Coordinator, told the Independent Appeal last Monday that personnel from the Armies of Tennessee, who staged one of the two reenactments of the historic battle last Saturday and Sunday, were hard at work restoring cleaning up and restoring the land upon which the reenactment occurred. This event occurred in Counce.
“We are working just as hard after the reenactment as before,” she said.
