Selmer traffic-camera goes live

The traffic cam monitors the intersection of Highways 45 and 142 at Wal-Mart Friday in Selmer. Mayor David Robinson confirmed that the camera went live sometime Thursday night or Friday morning. Anyone running the red light or exceeding the 45 mph speed-limit will only receive a warning ticket for the first ten days but will be cited after that. Robinson said the main problems the camera is meant to address are people running the red light and speeding on Highway 45, mainly in the southbound lane.
