Selmer Family Fun Night Student Appreciation Night

Selmer Middle School worked diligently getting ready for TCAP testing. Pencils hummed; students reviewed TCAP Coach Books and the internet buzzed with Study Island reviews. Teachers encouraged students to do their absolute best and discussed test strategies to help students with their state test. The assembly began with a TCAP Rap performed by teachers and following as a song sung by Reba McEntire, (Molly Latham and her band) “Little Want-To”.   A pageant of various TCAP contestants displayed their TCAP skills or their lack of, the contestants varied from Ms. Bad Breakfast, Ms. Facebook All Night, Ms. Texting and Ms. Well Prepared.  Students cheered when Ms. Well Prepared was crowned because they too felt well prepared.  Justin Bieber and Jayden Smith (performed by Kelly Beth Ernest and backup Konnor Davis) sang an inspirational song, Never Say Never, to inspire students that they were ready for their test.   Excitement was everywhere; students were ready to put their knowledge on paper.  On April 18th students began with a TCAP trot.  Ms. Shelva Moore, the county’s physical education coordinator, help coordinate a trot to help blood flow to the brain.  The week’s testing began with reading and ended with social studies.  During the testing breaks students were given bottled water and a light snack to help hydrate the brain.  The students will have a TCAP carnival on Monday May9th celebration of their accomplishments and hard work.
