Selmer Elementary First Graders Are Getting Fit!
The Selmer Elementary School first graders are getting fit for summer! Approximately one hundred children dressed as rock stars, playing maracas and guitars. The students presented a musical program for PTO Monday night and the school on Tuesday. The musical was about taking care of one’s self by eating right, exercising, and developing good habits of healthy living.
Mrs. Pam Stackhouse, the music teacher, received a mini grant from the Coordinated School Health Program. The primary focus of the grant was to build healthy kids through a musical revue which celebrates health and helps children learn to make good healthy choices. THINK FIT and Build Healthy Kids! was the theme for the grant. The children rocked as they sang. “Come With Us, We’re the American Fit Kids Coalition!” What a great way to close out the year with Healthy Ideas for a Great Summer.
