Ramer man injured in one-car accident

A Ramer man was injured in a one-car crash on Highway 57 Sunday, July 24.

Gregory Brandon Blakely was driving west on Highway 57 when the white 2004 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving hit an embankment on the east side of a private drive and became airborne, according to the crash report by Trooper Jason Kirk of the Tennessee Highway Patrol who responded to the accident.

The pickup then landed striking an embankment on the shoulder of the roadway. It then struck another driveway embankment and came to its final rest facing south.

According to the report, Trooper Kirk suspected that Blakely had been drinking.

Blakely was cited for alleged violations of the open container law, failure to drive in his lane and violations of the financial responsibility law.

Blakely suffered incapacitating injuries in the crash and was transported by air to the Med in Memphis, the report stated.

A spokesperson for the Med said on Monday, July 26, that Blakely was still hospitalized but was in good condition.
