Gavin Shipman makes it across the hanging bar in the Selmer City Park on July 5 with help from Dylan Lowrance. Thanks to a $42,000 Local Park and Recreation Fund Grant, the park has new playground equipment. It has new swings, a new climbing wall, a see-saw, a hammock, a bouncing grasshopper and bumblebee. “We’re proud of it. It looks real good. It gives the kids something to play on,” said Sybil Dancer, Selmer Parks and  Recreation Director.
