Mustangs no match for Rebels
After barely escaping their game with Selmer the week before with a win, Bethel sought to make their next victory more convincing...they succeeded.
Bethel Springs 57, Reagan South Side 12
Thanks to a potent offense, Bethel cruised to a 45-point win over the Reagan South Side Mustangs on the road last Thursday.
Dylan Crabb led the way for the Rebels, completing eight of his 11 passes for more than 230 yards through the air. He also connected with his receivers for four passing touchdowns in the game.
Mykeal Hudson’s performance running the ball was impressive as well. He finished with 104 yards on the ground and two touchdowns on just five carries.
By the end of the first quarter, Bethel led Reagan by just eight, but that score widened in the second. The Rebels scored 21 uncontested points before the first half ended, and they went to the locker room at halftime with a 35-6 lead. Bethel did not call off the dogs.
Reagan managed another score in the third, but the “mean green” of Bethel poured it on, scoring twice more in the third and once more in the fourth to close out a blowout win over the Mustangs.
The Rebels held the ‘Stangs to less than 200 yards of total offense while piling up more than 520 yards of offense for themselves. They also forced three turnovers on defense.
Bethel (3-0, 3-0) will attempt to remain in the running for a county championship this Thursday when they travel to the home of the Cardinals to take on Adamsville (0-3, 0-3).
