MRA attempting to bring Food Network show to McNairy County

The McNairy Regional (MRA) alliance is currently attempting to bring the popular Food Network program Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives to McNairy County to visit some of our local restaurants.

The show, which premiered in 2006, is hosted by The Next Food Network Star winner Guy Fieri. Fieri travels around the country, seeking out small independent diners, drive-ins, and dives which are unique in some way for the program.

MRA has already taken steps to attract the show to McNairy County.

“We have recommended McNairy County’s famous slug burger joints,” said MRA Director of Chamber Programs, Russell Ingle, “and with McNairy County being known as the birthplace of the slug burger, it is only logical that Diners Drive-ins and Dives and host Guy Fieri visit our community.”

MRA has promoted Pat’s Cafe for the show. “Can you imagine Guy Fieri downing a good ole’ slug burger and interacting with colorful characters such as Pat and Harold Knight?” said Ingle.

The show’s producers have indicated that they will want to visit several establishments if they visit the area.

Residents of McNairy County have been encouraged to recommend their favorite eateries to the producers of the show. Whatever is recommended must be unique in some way.

MRA asks that you email your suggestions to Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives at DDDinfo@mac.com.

The show could not be reached for comment.
