Motorcyclist killed in crash

A motorcyclist was killed Monday in a crash near Counce, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Charles T. Carlson, age 64, of Farmer City, Ill. was traveling westbound on Highway 57 on a motorcycle, when he allegedly turned south in front of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by Levi M. Pickens, age 16, of Michie. The truck was in the eastbound lane, where the crash occurred. Both vehicles came to rest in the westbound lane.
According to the preliminary report, by Trooper Gerald Hardin, who responded to the accident, Carlson was killed but Pickens was not injured.
The accident occurred about 3 miles west of Counce near the intersection with Highway 142.
Carlson was wearing a helmet and Pickens was wearing a safety belt.
