On Saturday May 21st, Michie Cub Scout Pack 231 held a clean up effort to improve their community.

The clean up took place where Mount Olive Creek crosses Tulu Road. This area has become a place of recreation for all terrain vehicles. Unfortunately, trash is left behind and the area has also become a place where people dump unwanted items.

In the clean up efforts, the boys collected a toilet, a busted fish tank, 2 tents and 11 bags of garbage. Through this effort, the boys are taught about conservation and pride in their community.

Some of the boys, will earn a World Conservation Award while others earn requirements toward their Leave No Trace Award.

Michie Cub Scout Pack 231 would like to thank McNairy County Solid Waste for their support in this effort through the Litter Grant Program. They provided garbage bags and orange vests for safety control.
