As reported earlier in the Independent Appeal, the Bethel Springs Board of Aldermen elected Lew Perrigo to fill the term of Sherri Payne, who resigned two months ago.

Perrigo is 53 and was raised in the grocery store business. He served three years in the Army. Soon after leaving the armed forces, he met and married Wanda Agnew, the daughter of Jack and Rachel Agnew, of Bethel Springs.
