A day of thunderstorm warnings couldn’t keep McNairy Central from competing against Hardin and Chester Counties on Monday at the Selmer Golf and Country Club.

The sloppy, wet green did not affect Hardin County’s youngsters from winning. Hardin won with a team Low score of 149 over McNairy’s 155 and Chester’s 168.

The Selmer course is a par 36 course which left Dakota Roden, Blake Chandler, and Jason Kirk two over. Ben Carroll of Hardin County held the best individual overall shooting a 33.

Matt Chandler, Dilan Miller, and Stuart Littlejohn finished with a 41, Hunter Foote 42, Jamie Yancey 45, and Easton Hawkins 60.

Chester had a player that was one under par, Zack Morton, but the team had a couple scores ranging into the fifties.

Hardin also won over the girls’ golf team 103 to 111. Valerie Jones shot a 57 against Hardin’s Sarah Holland, who shot at 44 and Kelly Beth Ernest shot a 54 versus Taylor Alexander’s 59.

McNairy was scheduled to play Tuesday evening after press time against Chester and Bolivar. Next week’s match will be on Monday at Selmer Golf and Country Cub at 3:30 p.m. with nine holes against Jackson South Side.
