Adamsville Park and Recreation Director Bubba Martin announces he along with Modern Woodmen Rep. Shawn Sisk will hold a free softball camp for girls from the ages of 6-12.
The camp is for girls from the Adamsville, Savannah and Selmer areas and will be held at the Adamsville City Park on Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th from 6-9 each evening.
Each participant will receive a fee camp T-shirt. The camp will cover the fundamentals of base-running, bunting, defensive skills, hitting and pitching.
Expenses for the camp are being offset by several area sponsors so the camp can be offered free of charge to all interested girls.
Registration has already begun and will continue through Monday, July 25th. To register or for more information call Martin at (731) 610-2093.
Martin also announced that signups for Junior Pro Football and Cheerleader along with Soccer will take place in early August.
When asked what he would like to have for his department if he had an abundance of funds, Martin had two wishes. “I would love to form a volleyball league-we get a lot of inquiries about that,” said Martin.
The director, who has “Every Kid Can Play” on his business card, had one other wish. “I would love to have a fund so any kid or parent would never have to worry about if they did not have the funds to participate in any of our programs.”
