Local student receives scholarship to attend UT Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. – A local student has been awarded two scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin, according to Judy Rayburn, director of admissions.

William Erwin, son of Max and Ginger Erwin of Morris Chapel, will be a freshman.  He received the UTM McWhorter Freshman Scholarship/Workship and the Harold Conner Scholarship.

Two other McNairy County students have been awarded scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic year to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin, according to Judy Rayburn, director of admissions.

Karlee Jackson-Carney, of Selmer, daughter of Kelly Jackson and Ben Carney, will be a freshman.  She received the Deans Scholarship.

Margaret Weatherford, daughter of Lee and Kelly Weatherford of Selmer, will be a freshman.  She received the UTM McWhorter Freshman Scholarship/Workship.
