The McNairy Central Lady Bobcats finished as the fourth seed in the TSSAA District 14 AA Tournament. The final loss was on Tuesday, May 10, to the South Side Lady Hawks, by a score of 4-2.

“I am very proud of my girls,” said Coach Mellanie Surratt, after their final game against South Side.

The Lady Cats held the lead for the first three innings with two runs made in the first.

In the fourth, South Side took the lead with three runs and later scored one in the seventh to end the ball game.

Kindra Brown was pitcher and went 1-3 at the plate. Jacee Whirley was 1-2 and Chelsea Bodiford, Mikaela Rowland, and Brianna Phelps went 1-3.

“The girls were over anxious on the bases, but I would rather them be over anxious than to be lazy and not paying attention.”

“I want to thank the parents. They did a good job with hosting the tournament this year.”

Seniors Courtney Robinson, Kelcey Amerson, and Robin Matlock spent their last moments on the field together at the game.

“The team and I will miss the seniors,” Surratt said.
