August 18

• MCHS 20 Year Reunion

The MCHS Class of 1991 will have their 20 year reunion on October 7-8. Friday night will be at the Homecoming Game at MCHS and Saturday night will be at Premiere Place in Jackson, TN. All information is on Facebook at MCHS Reunion Page or through Kim Owen Morris at 731-879-0288.

 

• Republican Women Meeting

McNairy County Republican Women will meet on Thursday, August 18th at 6 p.m. at Mulberry Manor. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

• Photo Contest

The Crossroads Museum at the Historic Depot in downtown Corinth, MS announces its 10th Annual Photo Contest. The museum will begin accepting entries on August 17, 2011, with an awards ceremony to be held on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Last day to accept entries September 30. RULES: All submissions must be: 1. previously unpublished 2. 8x10 inches in size – must be hard-backed and not framed 3. must have photographers name, address, telephone, number, title of the picture, and category on the back of photo 4. all photos with the exception of those submitted to the “vacation” category must have been taken in either North Mississippi, Southern Tennessee, or West Alabama. • Leapwood Fire

  Department Fish Fry

Leapwood Fire Department will have a fish fry August 20 at 5:00 at the Leapwood Community Center. Cost is adults $10 and children $5. All you can eat fish, chicken, fries, slaw, white beans, and dessert. Cake walk to follow. Please come and support the Leapwood Fire Dept.

• Benefit for Ann Gilchrist

A fundraiser benefit for medical expenses from brain surgery on Saturday, August 20 from 10 a. m. until? Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Adamsville. Sponsored by Mount Sharon Presbyterian Church. BBQ, pork, ribs, bologna & chicken. - plates, sandwches, pound paks, drinks and smoke house rednecks loaded baked potato. Special orders for whole Boston butt at $25 and whole rack baby back ribs at $20.

  Opening

Access Health Center open house Sunday, August 21 from 2:00 - 4:00 at 150 South Y Square.

• Eastview Ruritan Meeting

Eastview Ruritan Club will have their regular monthly meeting 8/22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Eastview Civic Center. Everyone is welcome.

 

August 23

• Open Forum 

Martha Jobe from the Women’s Resource Center in Corinth will be speaking at the Open Forum at the Village Coffeehouse, 141 W Court Ave: now at 7:00 p.m. each Tuesday night there will be a forum.  Come to hear what’s happening, ask questions, participate in discussion. 

 

August 27

• Enville Fund Day

Enville Fire Department fundraiser Saturday, August 27 starts at 11 a.m. and ends with a street dance beginning at 7 p.m. Food, lip sync, talent contest (688-5470), parade (1:30) drawings and lots of fun.

 

August 28

• McAfee Reunion

The McAfee Reunion will be Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at the Eastview Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please attend.

• Historical Society Meeting

Bobbie Randolph will give a very informative talk about Bethel Springs History at the regular meeting of the McNairy County Historical Society at 7:00 p. m, on August 30, 2011 at the Jack McConnico Library.
