While the Lady Bobcat volleyball team went the full five sets with two of their last three opponents, the girls were not able to pick up a win in several very close matches last week.

Hosting the Liberty Lady Crusaders in a district match last Thursday, the Volleycats lost 3-2 in five sets though seniors Mikaela Rowland, Tiffany Winebrenner, and Zipporah Woods performed well, accounting for over a third of the teams points in the match from the service line.

Playing on the road against the Lady Tigers of Lexington on Sept. 18, McNairy Central lost 3-1 in four sets to their district foes, dropping their record in District 15 A-AA to 2-5 before hosting Liberty last Thursday.

The Volleycats looked as if they were going to get a win when they hosted the Corinth on Sept. 17, but after falling behind 1-0 after the first set and winning the next two to take a 2-1 match lead, MCHS dropped the last two sets and took a 3-2 loss to the Lady Warriors in a non-district match.

MCHS (7-10, 2-6) played the ninth district match of the season at home last Monday against the Chester County Lady Eagles, and the team will follow it up Thursday when they host a varsity double-header with the Jackson Central-Merry Lady Cougars.
