Bobcats fall to Indians in Jamboree

Jackson North Side won over McNairy Central 13-0 Friday night in the jamboree at Gibson County High School.
“The jamboree is a dress rehearsal for everything you do for the rest of the year,” said Coach Jim Glover. “Are we getting the effort that we want out of the players?”
North Side held an overall record last year of 12-1 and was ranked 47th in the state of Tennessee.
The benefit of the jamboree and the outcome is that it gives the Bobcats and the coaching staff an opportunity for change.
“We played a very tough opponent at North Side. There were some spots that we didn’t compete in and then I thought there were some spots that we did compete in. We are going to make those adjustments this week.”
Pinpointing mistakes and trying to correct before the season kicks off this week seems to be the set goal for the Bobcats.
“Overall it was a good evaluation tool for us,” said Glover. “Especially with ones that are far off, because you get to work on the travel aspect. We can make our adjustments and know that everything counts from this point on.”
Friday, McNairy Central hosts Saint Benedict at Auburndale from Memphis, Tenn. at 7 p.m. for the first official game of the season.
