Bobcat Tennis serves three set matches

McNairy Central had a busy week of tennis, with matches against Sacred Heart, South Side and Chester County. The Bobcats added one loss and two wins to their record in the action.
The Lady Bobcats took victory over Sacred Heart in a grudge match of 4-3 on Monday, April 18, while the boys sat out.
Shelby Kennedy, Taylor Scott, Mallorie Sweat, and Danielle Bruno came out on top in the singles matches.
In doubles, Scott and Ashley Bruno won 8-6 and Sweat and D. Bruno won 8-1 over the Sacred Heart Lady Knights.
The next day’s match was a blow-out against the South Side Lady Hawks, with the boys sitting out once again.
Kennedy, Scott, Emily Harris, Sweat, and D. Bruno had the leading set scores in the singles.
Hickman/Kennedy and Harris/Scott teamed up to defeat the Lady Hawks in the doubles as well, leaving a final of 7-0.
The boys finally got matches set up against the Chester County Eagles on Thursday, but were unable to win a match.
The MCHS girls also struggled against the Lady Eagles, as only one winner came from McNairy Central, D. Bruno.
The boys lost 7-0 and the girls lost 6-1.
With the games played, the tennis team has an overall record of 5-3 girls and 2-4 boys.
