Bethel road repairs conclude
By Jeff Whitten
Bethel Springs road repairs have concluded for now, according to City Recorder Erin Pickle.
Pickle earlier told the Independent Appeal that they put asphalt on all of the
Milling was put on some surfaces that have been worn out. It is very fine, and when it melts it will make the roads more level, Pickle said. This is necessary because so much damage has been done to some of the roads.
Roads that have been repaired include Sandy Flat Road, Jackson Street, Buena Vista Road, Main Street and Masseyville Road.
They also put some culverts in. Tim Harrison from Arkansas did the work.
Pickle said she was still tabulating the final cost, but the cost for the project at the half-way point was about $25,000.
The city was able to afford the work despite its tight budget due to a bridge grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
