Basketball Camp brings in success

Traffic and business boomed following memorial weekend because of the McNairy Central Team Camp held from Tuesday, May 31, to Friday, June 3. 

Teams from all over the district traveled to compete in the basketball camp held at McNairy Central High, Bethel Springs Elementary, Selmer Middle School, and the Selmer Civic Center.

Local county boys’ and girls’ teams such as the Michie Blue Devils, Bethel Rebels, Ramer Eagles, Selmer Lions, and McNairy Central Bobcats competed.

Along with approximately 20 additional schools that traveled their boys’ and girls’ teams to participate including Regan, Trinity Christian, Decatur, Alcorn, Southaven, Chester, Scotts Hill, Huntington, Hardin, Trenton, Middleton, Obion Central, Crockett, Dyersburg, Lexington, and many more. 

The players have a chance to develop their skills and try new plays and positions.

Alumni referees assisted, along with the cooperation and organization of the coaches to put on another successful summer basketball camp.
