The Bobcats were just an inning away from advancing to the Sports Plus Tournament semifinals in Jackson, Tenn. last weekend but came up a run short after falling to Montgomery Central in their final game.

“We played really well as far as pitching and defense goes,” said Bobcat head coach Brian Franks. “We just didn’t hit. We had some base running errors, and didn’t hit it well at the plate...I sorta think we got tired as the week went on.”

Franks was not making excuses for his team. The Bobcats began their regular season play on March 12. Last Friday was March 30. In 18 days, the Cats played 19 games and amassed an impressive 13-5-1 record.
